Understanding the new COBRA Subsidy Plan

As part of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 signed into law by President Obama on February 17th, there are mandatory actions that fall under a new COBRA Subsidy Plan which need to be implemented by employers on March 1, 2009. The goal of this plan is to make COBRA, which has historically been cost-prohibitive to a newly unemployed worker, more available to those in need of health insurance coverage.
